So what is going on in New Dublin? Who are these Thols, and is Commissioner Delaney right, is the map Kaylin Stewart found actually real? Well answers to these questions and more are up ahead in Shadows & Daylight Episode 5: "A Twisting Turn of Truth" COMING SOON! But while you wait for A Twisting Turn of Truth, here's some behind the scenes notes on the production process for Shadows & Daylight! Keep reading to the end, to see a sneak peak of the script for episode 5. A little about the process. It's hard to believe just how much goes into creating audio dramas, or other media projects and art, unless you've actually been behind the scenes, and made one. Everything is firmly planned out, written, and re-written constantly.
When Shadows & Daylight first started, it was based on a script for a previous audio drama series, that GreenStreams Studio never released. Three scripts were based on the original plot line of that one episode, which introduced us to several familiar Shadows & Daylight (S&D) characters, as well as the town of New Dublin. These characters included Winter, Red, and Mr. and Mrs. LeBon. Eventually though, after much prayer and consideration, the scripts got taken in an entirely different direction, and the three original "lost" episodes are simply sitting on writer, Christopher Green's, hard drive. Fast forward, after a year of writing, and you have the 12 episodes that make up season one, and production and recording has begun. Casting was something very Lord led. Christopher prayed about who to cast, and immediately God brought images of people to mind. This was a nerve wracking experience, to some degree, for Christopher, since some of the people who had come to mind, were not well known by Christopher. After some lord led casting, the bulk of the recording took about a year to record, and small parts are still being recorded now. Sound design can take weeks, to a month, and is then followed by carefully placed, and composed music, to bring out the mood, and tie themes together. I hope you enjoyed a little insight into the process! And here's a bonus, a SNEAK PEAK at the script for episode 5! God bless, Christopher Green
